University officials present sustainability request to House Higher Ed

On Wednesday, March 30, the House Higher Education Committee heard a bill that would provide a one-time appropriation of $75,000,000 to advance campus sustainability, one component of the University’s supplemental budget request. Shane Stennes, University director of sustainability, explained how this bill will help build a fully sustainable future for the University system, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, reducing pollution in Minnesota communities, and creating clean energy job opportunities. The bill was laid on the table for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.
