Capital Investment Bonding Tours

Tours of campus bonding projects offer unique opportunities to explain the need for investments in the University.

As the legislature and governor prepare their priorities for a capital investment bonding bill, many legislators and administrative officials take time to tour potential bonding projects across the state. Typically, these tours begin as early as August and continue throughout the fall and winter prior to the start of the legislative session.

This year, the University was fortunate to have both the House and Senate Capital Investment Committees visit our campuses, as well as officials from the Department of Minnesota Management and Budget, representing the Governor. These officials toured projects like Owen Hall on the Crookston campus, AB Anderson Hall on the Duluth campus, and Pillsbury Hall on the Twin Cities campus. Just recently, we welcomed the Senate Capital Investment Committee to the Twin Cities and Crookston campuses to learn more about HEAPR projects, Pillsbury Hall, and the Greater Minnesota Academic Renewal project request. Each visit affords the University an opportunity to explain the importance of the project to the University mission, how it helps students and faculty, and why it is a critical need.

A special thanks to all who participated in the tours and for your continued support of the University. For more information about the 2018 Capital Request, please click here.
