The 2018 bonding bill included $79.4 million for the following University of Minnesota requested projects:
- $45 million for Higher Education Asset Preservation and Replacement (HEAPR)
- $6.4 million for Greater MN Academic Renewal at Crookston and Morris
- $24 million for Pillsbury Hall Capital Renewal
- $4 million for Glensheen Capital Renewal
Higher Education Asset Preservation and Replacement
$200 million in state funding
Maximize the effectiveness and life of the University of Minnesota's 29 million square feet of infrastructure. The University allocates HEAPR funding systemwide in four categories: health, safety, and accessibility; building systems; utility infrastructure; and energy efficiency.
Greater MN Academic Renewal
$10.5 million in state funding
$5.3 million invested by the University
$15.8 million project total
Renovate and renew obsolete classrooms and laboratories on the University's Crookston, Duluth, and Morris campuses to support new learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); humanities; and teacher education.
Pillsbury Hall Capital Renewal
$24 million in state funding
$12 million invested by the University
$36 million project total
Renovate one of the Twin Cities campus’s oldest and most iconic buildings to provide modern teaching, learning, and research spaces, promote collaborative learning, and bolster undergraduate education for more than 6,000 students.
Glensheen Capital Renewal
$4 million in state funding
$4 million in non-state funding
$8 million project total
Repair Glensheen, Minnesota’s historic estate, to stabilize current structures and minimize additional deterioration.
