Higher Education Asset Preservation and Replacement

Maximize the effectiveness and life of the U of M’s 29 million square feet of infrastructure. The U allocates HEAPR funding systemwide in four categories: health, safety, and accessibility; building systems; utility infrastructure; and energy efficiency.
Child Development Building Replacement

Renovate the Child Development Building, built in 1913 on the Twin Cities campus, demolish the existing 1967 addition, and construct a new 30,000+ square foot addition, creating a 21st century childhood development research and training hub. U of M's developmental psychology program is ranked #1 in the nation.
A.B. Anderson Hall Renovation
$4.3 million in state funding
$2.1 million invested by the University
$6.4 million project total
Modernize 35,000 square feet of teaching space for more than 4,500 students on the Duluth campus studying communication, philosophy, history, and art. Updates to mechanical and life safety systems will address recent closures due to extreme temperatures.
